Rank tracker

Before you start

Rank tracking works on a project, which is a website you connected to Semurai. Pick the project first; every tool asks for one when none is selected.

Add keywords

1. 01

   Open the rank tracker

   In the app, go to Tools → Monitor → Rank tracker.

   Choose keywords

   Click Add keywords. Pick from Suggested keywords, up to 50 phrases your site already ranks for, sorted by search volume, or type and paste your own under Your keywords.

   Choose where to track

   Under Track keywords for, choose the location and the language. Tracking is set per country.

   Save

   The first check runs right away and the positions appear shortly after. From then on, positions are checked once a day.

Read the results

• Position changes in the last 30 days: how many keywords moved up, moved down, did not change, are new in the results or dropped out of them.
• Tracked keywords: monthly searches and the position today, 7 days ago and 30 days ago for every keyword. 100+ means outside the top 100 Google results.
• Search results: click today’s position to see the Google results from the latest check, with your site marked.
• Rank history: one position per day for the last 30 days.

Desktop or mobile

New keywords are tracked on desktop. To track a keyword on mobile, open its menu, choose Edit keyword and set Device to Mobile. Each keyword is tracked on one device. Changing the country, language or device resets the position and checks it again.

Keep the list tidy

• Search, filter by country and sort the table.
• Select keywords to Pause tracking, Resume tracking or Delete them in bulk.
• Open the page that ranks for a keyword straight from the table.

Send keywords from research

In keyword research, select phrases and choose Add to rank tracking. The same option appears in a competitor report and in the keyword gap.
