Connect WordPress

Requirements

• WordPress 5.8 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer.
• A WordPress administrator account, to open the plugin settings.
• WooCommerce is optional: its features appear when it is active.

Install and connect

1. 01

   Install the plugin

   In WordPress, install and activate the Semurai plugin. Nothing is sent to Semurai until you connect. Can’t find the plugin? Contact us and we will help you get it.

2. 02

   Open the setup

   After activation WordPress shows Semurai is active. Click Connect Semurai there or in the plugin’s row on the Plugins screen. The page Finish setting up Semurai opens.

3. 03

   Connect your account

   Click Connect free account. A secure window opens: sign in and choose Sign in and connect WordPress, or create a free account with Create account and connect WordPress. If you are already signed in to Semurai, the site connects right away. You can generate a Brand Kit for the site or skip it. When you see WordPress is ready, you are taken to the Semurai dashboard in WordPress.

   Choose who manages SEO

   If Yoast SEO, Rank Math, AIOSEO or SEOPress is active, choose Continue with it: your SEO plugin stays in charge and Semurai writes approved changes through it. Without one of them, choose Use Semurai SEO Core.

5. 05

   Connect Search Console (optional)

   Open integrations takes you to Semurai, where you can connect Google Search Console. You can also do it later.

What you can do next

• Send articles: in the content writer, open Export and choose Send to WordPress…. An article goes as a draft by default; you can also send it for review, or publish it if your WordPress user may publish.
• Keep both sides in sync: use Update the post or turn on Sync automatically. If the post changed in WordPress, choose Take the WordPress version or Overwrite with Semurai.
• Apply SEO fixes: fix plans from the site audit change titles, descriptions and image alt text on the live site, then re-check the pages.
• Optimize WooCommerce: in WordPress, open Semurai → WooCommerce and choose Sync catalog now to bring your products and categories to Semurai. Filters show items with missing or duplicate meta data, missing image alt text, low CTR and more, and products get an Optimize with Semurai AI button.

Disconnect

In the plugin’s settings choose Disconnect site. Semurai stops publishing to this WordPress site; you can connect it again from the plugin at any time.
