Rank Tracker

Know the exact day your rankings moved.

Semurai re-checks each tracked keyword once a day for its own location, language and device, keeps 30 days of history, and shows you movement the moment it happens — not a monthly snapshot.

  • One slot per keyword, location, language and device
  • Daily checks with full 30-day position history
  • Movement links back to the page that caused it

Interactive

Watch the whole portfolio move, not one keyword.

Position distribution is the number that matters at scale: how many keywords sit in each ranking band, and how that shape changes over a month. Toggle a band or hover a day to read the detail.

Position distribution Distribution of positions over time.

Rank history

See the day a change actually landed.

Every tracked keyword keeps its own daily history, charted with #1 at the top. Scrub across the month to find the exact day a template fix, a refresh or a competitor's move changed your position.

  • Daily positions, not weekly averages that hide the spike
  • Desktop and mobile tracked as separate realities
  • The ranking URL is stored with the position, so you see cannibalisation

How tracking works

No credit maths. One keyword, one slot, one check a day.

Rank Tracker runs on its own cycle and never touches your AI limit. A slot is a keyword in a specific location, language and device combination — so you always know exactly what you are paying for.

  • Rank Tracker slots are separate from your AI credit limit
  • Track the same keyword on desktop and mobile as two slots, or just one
  • Deactivating frees a slot instantly — no billing cycle to wait for
Active slots Checked once per day, automatically

Deactivate a keyword at any time and the slot returns to the pool immediately.

What counts as one slot

The scheduler picks up due keywords continuously, so checks spread across the day instead of hammering one window.
After the movement

A position is only useful if it tells you what to do.

Rank Tracker is the feedback loop for the rest of Semurai. Every drop, gain and stall has somewhere to go.

Content Slipping page → SEO Editor

Send a losing URL straight into the editor, scored against whoever replaced you in the results.

Technical Sudden drop → SEO Audit

When a whole template loses positions at once, the cause is usually technical, not editorial.

Reporting Proof the work paid off

Tie shipped changes to distribution movement, so the next sprint is an argument with evidence.

30-day trend, not a snapshot

Nothing changes on your site automatically — every suggested action goes through your team's review first.

Workflow

From keyword to proof.

  1. 01 Add keywords

Paste your list or take the suggestions, then set location and language per keyword.

  2. 02 Let it run

Semurai re-checks every active keyword daily and stores the position with its ranking URL.

  3. 03 Read the movement

Watch distribution shift, then open any keyword's history to find the day it changed.

  4. 04 Act and verify

Send the finding to the editor, the audit or the gap view — then watch the next cycle confirm it.

FAQ

Common questions

How often are positions checked?

Every active keyword is checked once per day. The scheduler continuously picks up keywords that are due rather than running one large batch, so checks are spread through the day and results arrive steadily.

What history do I get?

Today's position, the best position over 7 days and over 30 days, plus a full daily rank history chart per keyword and a portfolio-wide position distribution across the last 30 days.

How do slots work?

Each active keyword uses one slot, and a slot is defined by the keyword plus its location, language and device. Tracking does not consume your AI credit limit, and deactivating a keyword returns its slot to the pool immediately.

Can I track desktop and mobile separately?

Yes. Device is part of the tracked configuration, so the same keyword on desktop and mobile is tracked as two independent results — which matters, because the two SERPs genuinely differ.

What if a keyword isn't in the top 100?

It is recorded as outside the top 100 rather than silently dropped, so the Over 100 band in the distribution chart stays honest and you can see when a keyword finally breaks in.

What can I do with a ranking drop?

Send the URL into the SEO Editor to rewrite against whoever replaced you, re-crawl it in SEO Audit if a whole template moved, or open Competitor Analysis to see who took the position and what else they are winning.
