Keyword Research

Judge a keyword before you write it.

Volume, difficulty, intent, cost per click, competition and a full year of demand trend — collected for your country and language, then turned into the article or tracked keyword that follows.

  • Per-country and per-language search data
  • Intent and difficulty on every suggestion, not just the seed
  • Send a keyword straight to a draft or to Rank Tracker

The suggestion list is where the decision gets made.

Every related keyword arrives with the same metrics as the seed. Sort by what matters, pick the ones worth working on, and watch the opportunity size add up.

A number is not a decision. A verdict is.

Semurai scores keyword difficulty from 0 to 100, then tells you what that score actually means for a site like yours — so juniors and stakeholders read the same answer you do.

  • Six plain-language bands, from Very easy to Very hard
  • The same score on every suggestion, not just the seed keyword

After the research

A keyword list is not a strategy until something happens.

Research in Semurai is the front of a pipeline, not a spreadsheet export. Every keyword you keep has a next step.

Content Keyword → article

Send a single keyword into the writer and it arrives with the target structure already built from the live results.

You approve before publishing
Measurement Keyword → Rank Tracker

Add the selection to daily position tracking so you can prove whether the work moved anything.

Checked once per day
Planning Keywords → topic cluster

Group related terms by intent into a hub and its supporting pages rather than one page per keyword.

Internal links planned upfront
Competitive Keyword → competitor gap

Check who already ranks for the term and what else they win before you decide it is worth the effort.

FAQ

Common questions

Where does the keyword data come from?

Search volume, CPC, competition, difficulty and intent come from live search data providers, requested for the specific country and language you choose. Results are cached for a period so repeat lookups are instant, and you can refresh a keyword on demand.

What does the difficulty score mean?

It estimates how hard it is to reach the first page for that keyword, from 0 to 100. Semurai also shows a plain-language band — Very easy, Easy, Possible, Difficult, Hard or Very hard — so the number turns into a decision rather than trivia.

Why does search intent matter more than volume?

Intent tells you what the searcher is trying to do. A high-volume informational term needs a guide, while a lower-volume transactional term may be worth far more to the business. Every keyword and suggestion is labelled informational, commercial, transactional or navigational.

Can I see seasonality?

Yes. Each keyword keeps a 12-month history of monthly search volume, charted as a trend so you can spot seasonal peaks and avoid committing to a term that is quietly declining.

Can I see the current search results?

Yes. The SERP overview shows the live top results for the keyword with their titles, URLs and descriptions, so you can judge the format and depth Google is rewarding before you brief anything.

What can I do with the keywords I keep?

Select them and add them to Rank Tracker for daily monitoring, or send a single keyword into the writer, where the brief and target structure are built from the pages currently ranking for it.

Stop guessing which keyword deserves the work.

Enter one seed keyword and get demand, difficulty, intent and the live results in a single view — then turn the winners into work.
