Chat with Semur
The chat is where you hand work to Semur, the lead of your AI agents. Describe a goal in your own words, add material if it helps, and Semur plans the work, asks for your approval where it matters and brings the results back into the conversation.

Open a new chat
Click New chat at the top of the sidebar. The home screen greets you and shows the message box with Ask me anything about SEO.... The buttons under it, such as Audit my website or Plan a month of content, put a ready request into the box.

Write what you want to achieve, for example Prepare the launch of our Ember Roast blend: a blog article, a graphic and 3 social posts. Press Enter to send, Shift+Enter adds a new line. A message can have up to 5,000 characters.
Check the plan
For bigger work Semur shows the Plan first: the steps, the agent who takes each one and the steps marked Needs approval, because they change something outside the chat (for example scheduling posts). In place of the message box you see Approve this plan?

Keep Yes, continue and click Submit to start. No, cancel this action drops the plan. Adjust scope lets you untick the steps you do not need, and Write your own answer tells Semur what to do differently. On the keyboard, 1 and 2 choose, Enter submits and Esc cancels.
Follow the work
The plan card shows which step is Running and what is done, and the line under the message box says what Semurai is working on. When the AI agents start, their panel opens on the right with the Agent chat, where you can follow how they hand work to each other. You keep talking to Semur in the main chat. Open the results
When the work is done, Semur sums it up and lists the Delivered results under the answer. Click a result to open it in a panel beside the chat, for example the article. From the panel you can Open full view or close it. On a narrow window the result opens over the chat.

Article outlines
When Semur writes an article, it can show an Article outline first. Edit the title and the headings, change their level, drag them into a new order or add a section, then click Approve outline. Reject drops the outline. The article then opens in the SEO editor.
Add material and options
The + button next to the message box (Add material and options) adds context to your next message:
- Upload from computer: images, PDF, DOCX and other files, up to 50 MB each. You can also drop files on the chat or paste them into the message box.
- Media library: a saved image or asset of your workspace.
- Documents: a document of your workspace.
- Products: a product from your store, up to 5 at a time.
- Web search: Semur searches the web and answers with clickable sources. Click it again to turn it off.
A message takes up to 10 attachments, the picked material included. What you add shows as chips above the text, and you can remove any of them before sending.
Semurai Modes
Under the materials, the same menu lists the Semurai Modes. A mode tells Semur exactly what kind of work your next message is about, so it goes straight to the right workflow. The chosen mode shows as a chip, for example Mode: Blog post, and the cross on it removes it. Without a mode Semur works out the goal on its own.

| Product | Optimizes a product or prepares safe changes to your offer. |
| SEO audit | Runs the crawler, checks the Health Score and goes through the report. |
| Keyword cluster | Groups keywords by intent, target pages and topical authority. |
| Calendar | Finds, plans and updates the content in your calendar. |
| Analytics | Answers questions about your results and Search Console data. |
The modes further down the list are formats of Creative Studio: Social graphic, Carousel, Ad, Presentation, Landing page, UI mockup, Email, Document, Report and Video. Each one creates an editable design.
A mode that is not available to you shows greyed out, with a short explanation instead of the description.
Commands with /
Type / at the start of the message box to open a list of the modes and, in a chat that is already open, the commands. Keep typing to filter it, use the arrow keys and press Enter or Tab to pick. The result of a command shows as a short notice.

While Semur is working
The message queue
You can keep writing while Semur works: the box says Semurai is working. Type and your message joins the queue.... Messages wait under Queued and go out one by one when the work is done. For each one you can:
- Steer now: Semur takes the message into the running work after the current step.
- Send now: stops the current work first. Semur asks Stop the current work and send now? and you confirm with Stop and send.
- move it up or down, edit it or remove it from the queue.
Stop an answer
While Semur answers, the send button turns into Stop. Click it, or press Esc with an empty message box. The chat then says Answer stopped. What was already finished stays in the conversation.
Key decisions or Autopilot
The button next to the send button sets how much Semur asks in this conversation:
- Key decisions (the default): Semur asks about content choices and about using your limit. Reading data and preparing the workspace happen automatically.
- Autopilot: Semur prepares drafts on its own, following your preferences. Before it switches, it asks Enable Autopilot?, because work can use your limits as soon as it starts. Creative choices, outlines, publishing and other changes outside Semurai still wait for your confirmation.
Work with answers
- Under an answer: Copy, Regenerate, Good answer and Bad answer. After a regeneration the arrows switch between the versions.
- Your own message can be edited with Edit. With an empty message box, the up arrow key edits your last message.
- A line such as Used: Brand Kit, 2 memories shows what Semur took into account.
Your chats
The sidebar lists the chats of the current workspace, grouped into Pinned, Today, Yesterday, Previous 7 days and Older. To find an older one, click Search in the window bar or press Ctrl+K and type a part of its title.
The More options button of a chat offers Pin (or Unpin), Rename, Move to project, which moves the chat to another workspace, and Delete. Deleting is permanent and removes the whole conversation. You can also rename the open chat by clicking its title at the top.
Share a chat
The Share chat button at the top right creates a public, read-only link to the conversation. Under Link expiry choose 7 days, 30 days (the default) or No expiry, then click Create share link: the link is copied. The link shows the conversation as it is now, including messages added later.
Once a link exists, the same menu offers Copy share link, Open public view and Revoke public link, after which the address stops working. To show a chat to the people of your workspace instead, use Shared in the workspace, see Team collaboration.
Memory
Semur only remembers what you ask it to. Write for example remember that we write casually, and the fact or preference is saved. In Settings → Memory you see every saved entry, marked as Fact or Preference. You can edit or delete each one, remove everything with Delete all memory, or turn Use memory off.
Limits and errors
- When little of your AI usage limit is left, a line above the message box says how much, with See plans. When the limit is used up, the chat shows Usage limit reached with Refresh and See plans, and your message waits in the text box. More in Plans and usage limits.
- A file over 50 MB is not added: the chat says it is larger than 50 MB. More than 10 attachments in one message are not added either.
- Pasted text longer than 5,000 characters is shortened, and the chat tells you so.
- If your plan has no storage left for files, delete files you no longer need or change your plan.
