Facebook event cover dimensions

Use 1920 × 1005 px. Facebook's help article on event covers gives no dimensions, so this is the size Sprout Social and most design tools use, and many 2026 guides repeat it.

1920 × 1005 px is about 1.91:1, the same shape as a link preview image. Some guides call it 16:9 and others cite an older 1920 × 1080 px; a 16:9 image is taller, so its top and bottom risk being cut.

Crop it before you upload

Facebook says you cannot change the size of a cover photo once it has been added to an event. Crop the image to 1920 × 1005 px before uploading, so you decide what stays in view.

Put the event name, date and place in the middle of the frame with space around them, and check the event page on a phone after publishing.

Event cover or Page cover

An event cover is much taller than a Page cover: 1920 × 1005 px (1.91:1) against 851 × 315 px (about 2.7:1). Reusing a Page cover for an event leaves empty space or forces a crop, so make a separate design.

Tips

  • Upload at exactly 1920 × 1005 px: Facebook does not let you change the cover size after adding it.
  • Keep the event name short enough to read on a phone screen.
  • Leave a margin around the text so small crops on different screens do not touch it.
  • Save covers with text as PNG and photo covers as JPG.

How to make it in Semurai Canvas

  1. Open the templates in Semurai Canvas and pick a landscape (1.91:1) template, the same shape as an event cover.
  2. Use Resize to set 1920 × 1005 px, add the event name, date and place, and switch on “Apply my brand”.
  3. Export a JPG or PNG and upload it as the cover photo of your event.

FAQ

Questions about this size

What size is a Facebook event cover photo?

1920 × 1005 px, about 1.91:1. Meta does not publish an event cover size, so this is the size most tools and guides use.

Is a Facebook event cover 16:9?

No. 1920 × 1005 px is about 1.91:1; a 16:9 image at that width would be 1080 px tall. Some guides label the event cover 16:9 by mistake.

What is the minimum size for a Facebook event cover?

Facebook publishes no minimum for event covers; Sprout Social quotes 400 × 150 px. Upload the full 1920 × 1005 px instead, because Facebook does not let you change the cover size after adding it.

Can I use my Page cover for an event?

You can, but the shapes differ: a Page cover is 851 × 315 px and an event cover 1920 × 1005 px. A separate design at the event size avoids awkward crops.
