LinkedIn banner size
A LinkedIn profile banner should be 1584 × 396 px (4:1): LinkedIn publishes no official size, but this is the one that fits. A company page cover is 1512 × 256 px, LinkedIn’s official size.

LinkedIn banner dimensions for your profile
Use 1584 × 396 px: LinkedIn does not publish a size for the personal background photo, and 1584 × 396 px (4:1) is the size that fits it.
Your profile photo usually sits over the lower left of the banner, and phones crop the sides. Keep words and logos near the centre, clear of the photo. Design guides put the file limit at 8 MB, in JPG or PNG.
Company page cover: 1512 × 256 px
A company page cover is 1512 × 256 px, and for this one LinkedIn does publish the size: the minimum and the recommended size are the same.
Many guides still list 1128 × 191 px, the old size. LinkedIn may trim the cover horizontally or vertically depending on the screen, so keep key details away from the edges, especially the lower right. Use PNG or JPEG, up to 3 MB.
Common LinkedIn banner mistakes
A common mistake is using one file for both: a company cover (about 5.9:1) is much flatter than a profile banner (4:1).
Others are text in the lower left, under the profile photo, and words too small to read on a phone. If you have Premium Business, Sales Navigator or Recruiter, you can upload up to five covers as a slideshow, so keep them in one style.
Tips
- Leave the lower left of a profile banner empty: your profile photo usually covers it.
- Keep text near the centre so phones do not crop it.
- Make a separate company cover at 1512 × 256 px instead of squeezing the profile banner.
- Use PNG for logos and flat colour, JPG for photos.
How to make it in Semurai Canvas
- Create a design in Semurai Canvas and pick a LinkedIn banner template (1584 × 396 px), or start blank and set the size in Resize.
- Switch on “Apply my brand” for your logo, colours and fonts, and keep the lower left clear for your profile photo.
- Export a PNG or JPG. For a company page, use Resize to make a 1512 × 256 px copy and check the layout.

FAQ
Questions about this size
What size is a LinkedIn background photo?
1584 × 396 px, a 4:1 image. LinkedIn does not publish an official size for the personal background photo, but this size fits it and is what design guides recommend. Use JPG or PNG, up to 8 MB.
What is the LinkedIn company page banner size?
1512 × 256 px, per LinkedIn’s help page; the minimum and recommended sizes are the same. Use PNG or JPEG up to 3 MB. The 1128 × 191 px size in many guides is the old one.
Why does my LinkedIn banner look cropped on mobile?
Phones show a narrower part of the banner and cut the sides. Keep words and logos near the centre and out of the lower left, where your profile photo sits.
